I bought these pillows based on reviews with the specific intention of using them just as pillows to put inside decorative shams, so I can’t say much as far as actually using them to sleep on. However they came very compacted in vacuum sealed bags and plumped up rather quickly. I inserted them into the shams right away just Incase they plumped up more than I thought they would. They fit perfectly in the shams and feel very soft. (Too soft for my liking if used as an actual pillow, head would be sinking in more than halfway and I prefer more firm pillows) and I can see them going flat rather quickly if used as a sleeping pillow. They have a strong plastic smell when first removed from the plastic so I’d air them out for a day or two before actually using them.(Please note that the third picture I posted is of when I first came out of the vacuum sealed bag before it had time to plump up at all, I took another picture after it’s been in the sham for a few days)
